KVFD Exploring Post 31 - Cools off during training
Post members were able to get wet and cool off during
some recent sprinker training. Members were given
several tools and had to stop the flow of water from a
fire training sprinker system. During the training they
figured out very quickly with of their tools was the
right one to use to stop the flow of water. With the
warm weather and temps right around 100 degrees the cool
water from the sprinker made the training class
something that all wanted to participate in.

KVFD Exploring Post 31 members spent
some of their summer time off to help others. Ashley and
Jessica collected food in their neighborhood to help
support a local food drive. They were able to collect
over 100 lbs of food that was add to the local food
drive and all donated to a local food pantry. Great
Community Service !!

Klein Volunteer Fire Department Exploring Post 31
members go the extra mile to training on CPR. The
Exploring Post member requested to attend a CPR class so
that they would be properly training to assist in an
emergency if needed. Working with Cypress Creek EMS a
training class was set up to train the post members. The
training was held on a Saturday and started off with
some juice and donuts while the instructor Matt Dewhurst
set up the class. The class began with some classroom
training then moved to the hands on part of the class –
putting the lessons learned to work. The class ended
with a test then CPR cards were handed out to those that
attended the class. Great job !!

Klein Volunteer Fire Department Exploring Post 31-
Hands On Training - Members of the KVFD Exploring Post
31 participated in some live fire extinguisher training.
Training began with a review of the different types of
extinguishers and their use. Each member was tested on
which extinguisher they would select for different types
of fires. After the review members put on their gear and
participated in some hands on live fire training using
three different types of extinguishers. – Great Job!!
