How to prepare for a hurricane
  • Check insurance coverage
  • Video tape or photograph valuables
  • Tape up windows
  • Fill the bathtub with water
  • Anchor outside objects because they could become deadly missals from high winds 
  • If you have a pool, toss the lawn furniture in (it will be safe and will get cleaned at the same time!)


During The Hurricane

  • Stay away from windows
  • Camp out in an interior room
  • Don't go outdoors


If you must evacuate

  • Take your emergency supplies with you
  • Move valuables to higher ground
  • Turn off utilities
  • Lock the windows and doors


After the Hurricane

  • Stay out of disaster areas
  • Beware of outdoor hazard
  • Beware of debris filled roads
  • Beware of high water
  • Beware of snakes 
  • Beware of poisonous insects
