September 20, 2006 - Brill Students Greet Klein Fire Department with Gatorade

Brill Elementary School students celebrated Good Deed Day all week long. Boy Scouts created the day to acknowledge the outpouring of love and good deeds which occurred the day after September 11th, 2001. On this September 12th, every student at Brill received a green ribbon as a reminder to do good deeds all day long. Examples of good deeds lined the hallways. Teachers passed out green stickers to students whenever they were caught doing good deeds. Visitors came to classrooms to share good deed stories. The week culminated in one amazing good deed. On Friday, every single student in the school hand delivered Gatorade to local Klein Volunteer firefighters. The firefighters came to the school with two fire trucks and a pick up truck. The students gave the Gatorade to the firefighters. Then they got a quick chance to examine the fire trucks. By the end of the afternoon, all students had met the firefighters, and the pick up truck’s bed was full to the brim with Gatorade. The Gatorade is going to be shared by seven Klein Volunteer Fire Stations. This good deed will be a lasting memory and lesson for these Brill students.
