New Station 32 Now Under Construction
On February 16th, 2005,
a contract was signed between Harris County Emergency Services
District No. 16 (HCESD #16) and Apache Services, Inc. for the
construction of a new Klein Volunteer Fire Department Station #2. The
new station will be built in a prime location just north of West FM
1960 at 14640 Gladebrook Drive. The location is near the southwest
corner of the Oak Creek Village subdivision. This station will
replace Klein’s existing Station #2 that has been located in the Oak
Creek Village subdivision at Gladeridge Drive and Gladebrook Drive
since 1973.
Harris County Emergency Services District No. 16 is the taxing entity
responsible for providing funding for the Klein Volunteer Fire
Department. HCESD #16 taxes real property in the district that
district coinciding with the boundaries of the Klein Volunteer Fire
Department. The current tax rate is five cents per hundred dollars
valuation. This valuation is established by the Harris County
Appraisal District.
Groundbreaking for the new station should occur about the end of
February and the approximate duration of construction activities is
150 days.
